OK, so i built myself a new PC late last year which i am enjoying, but i want to replace the case (Antec 900) as it's pretty poor.

I've got the opportunity to try and offload it to my brothers company, a small business of 3 people, who would normally spend about £400 on a Dell type machine, if i can build something better for them for the same price.

Say i value my case at £40-50 so i can put that towards a new one with better cable management etc, therefore a budget of around £350 for the rest of the bits.

I've also got 16gb of Corsair Vengeance Low Profile in my machine due to me screwing up the delivery addresses on one order and being impatient, and ordering a second set, so would happily take out 8GB of that and sell it on at cost price of £35 given what RAM prices have done since then.

I've also got a Corsair GS 750 PSU which i know would be absolute overkill for them, but i would like to replace with a modular one at some point anyway, so could offload that to them at a mutually beneficial price.

They are fairly IT illiterate, i've tried to get a more detailed requirement but so far all i've managed to get is basic MS Office usage and what i'm presuming is a basic stock control system.

That said looking at what you can get for £400 from Dell is what i'm currently trying to match, but i'm not sure i can do something that is a good deal for them and me given the discounts i've seen on the Dell site for such a basic non gaming machine??

Sorry if the above is a bit rambling, i'm just throwing ideas around in my head to try and offload the kit i don't want, but not rip them off or leave them at a disadvantage from not going the Dell route.

I'm trying to clarify that at the moment....it's like pulling teeth....

I'm working on the basis that it will be a replacement base unit with OS.

There's a Dell for £370 that comes with Win 7 Pro, basic keyboard and mouse, no monitor.

So i'm thinking to match that, an i5 3470 on stock cooling, a Z77 DS3H Mobo + Win 7 Home, they're currently on XP so i suspect that 8 will just cause issues with familiarity and they have no need of the Pro features, these are standalone machines connected to the internet.

Yeah i know that'd be overkill, it's just to match what they can get elsewhere for the budget.

I'm just trying to talk him through doing a Belarc scan to show me what he's got at the moment, apparently there is a 70GB hard drive with only 30 being used and 2GB RAM, so i'm beginning to think they may be over estimating the cost for what they will actually need now i'm digging into it more.

Yeah, sorry for wasting time, now i've got the full details of what he wants to do and why he'd be best getting a Dell box for £250 and i'll get him a copy of Office 2013 through my work deal for £9 and he'll be set to go.

I got carried away thinking i could get rid of some parts i don't want and do him a favour, but when you get down to that price it's just not worth the hassle.
