Our bathroom is in the middle of the house so we do need one but the one we've got currently, though silent by name, is unfortunately anything but! I really need one that has a delayed start timer (as well as a run on timer) so that it doesn't come if we're just using the toliet.

You need one with a humidity stat rather than a delay timer.
Extract fan world is the place to go, it’ll be more expensive than a normal fan and one with a timer.
