Looks like I'm going to have problems mounting the Swiftech MC-Res I've got in my case so possibly looking at a bay res instead but no idea what's good or not.

Don't need enormous capacity nor do I particularly want the res visible from the front of the case. Would like a res which only occupies a single 5.25" bay in height terms but sits behind the front blanking plate.

Yeah I know I just want something that will fit in a single bay but not actually take the whole bay and be exposed from the front, IYSWIM. Want something flat like a bay res that doesn't take much height up but can be hidden behind a blanking plate.

BayRes = Trouble

There has to be a place in your case for the MicroRes, surely. It's one of the best reservoirs available, and it's worth taking 5 minutes to think about placement. What case do you have?

Lian-Li V1200+ II

I was planning on mounting the microres at the front(ish), at the bottom of the drive bay area but the mounting holes just don't line up and there are odd bits of metal (optical drive supports) in the way.

I'm actually thinking about mounting it at the back of the case now which might work. Hoses will end up being fractionally longer and thus a bit messier but might work.

Im not going to argue as you seem a very knowledgeable bloke, but can I ask why? I run 2 bay res (XPSC ones) and love them both, I run 2 loops one off each res

Line one of the mounting holes up with an optical drive on the outside of the optical drive cage and use the supplied screw to mount the reservoir between the outside of the drive bay and the side panel. The fluid lines are basically self supporting, the screw just locates the res in the case.

I dont seem to have any of those problems. Maybe im lucky. Tho bleeding is a pain, but thought it would be with any res, im happy to put up with it.

Hmm, dya reckon it'd fit between the outide of the drive cage and the side panel?

Hmm, I'll double check but I'm pretty sure it won't fit there, which means it has to go inside the drive cage. Putting it there loses me two drive bays and I can only really secure it via a single screw/bolt as the holes won't line up. Dunno whether to go this route or switch it to the back of the case.

The new XSPC bay-res are great and all but eliminate any chance of getting bubbles back into your loop. They now place dividers around the output which works very well indeed provided you have the res sufficiently filled.

I have no trouble with my bay rez, dont seem to put any bubbles back into my loop, its the highest part in the loop though, made sure of that.
I am going check this now, you have made me paronoid, but not seen any bubbles in the line.

i use the xspc bay res, its really good tbh, no problems with bubbles getting drawn into the loops.

I also have a micro res but i use the xspc bay res instead as imo its simply much easier to use and bleed. the micro res was a pain in the ass to bleed!
