Spec me a bed!

Looking at getting a new bed either king size or super king and have set a budget of approx £1500. Would like it fairly firm, I had a quick look online but to be honest they all look the same. Is there any brands that are particularly good or ones to avoid.

I like there platform bed, but more interesting is on the pocket sprung mattress, it says gap between slats should not be more than 2.25" I bet most bed frames have gaps far bigger than that.
Shame beds and mattress are so expensive, but then again think how much time you spend in them.

Just replaced my old divan base for one with storage draws in - On old bed I had to put sheet of ply on top of base as original is only hardboard and sag's between batton's after (heavy use) if you get my meaning - put ply on new one now so should last till I conk out.

Cheers for posting that up, we're moving in a few weeks and first thing to buy is a new bed as ours is in need of replacement with a dodgy mattress and naff slats.

Some of the stuff on there looks really good, don't really have a budget to stick to but £1500 for say a king size is what I'm expecting.

Excellent thanks for links. Was thinking a divan bed and the factory beds site looks ideal. Will probably go and look at sizes in a shop as I want a super king but the wife thinks it's to big!!
