So far I have the above, really only require memory, it will be used in the bedroom for watching DVDs and hopefully hd/bluy ray disks and linked via hdmi to the screen.

I am not sure which memory is suitable for this application, in fact will the spec be ok, the budget is 600 excluding VAT.

if your hooking it up to a HD TV, and you got a HD,blue-ray drive. have you thought about a 780G chipset, does full onboard decoding of HD media.

yep thats the one, i like this one more

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showp...ATX (Socket AM2) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard

£58.74 inc VAT, but you could pick one up on the MM for £40 ;)

EIDT: the onboard graphics is actually very good, and can handle decoding HD media, offloading the work form your CPU, you can use a 2GHz processor, which means less heat, therefore less noise

EIDT2: goggle "780G review" read the first few links

yeh that's what he means. What you going to use the pc for?

To play hig def films (blue-ray, HD-DVD) it has to be decoded the 780g chipset will do it without using the main cpu.
