Spec me a BF3 / Skyrim killer at high res - pls

Its sort of a given that Skyrim will absolutely devour VRAM so i'm starting to doubt if the 570 will cope well enough, especially if you want to load custom texture packs and the such.

How do the graphics card options compare to each other? Like this:

2x 580 > 2x 570 > 580 > 570

And wher do the 6970s fit in (2x and 1x)?

Just taken a look at the Gen3 Mobo you linked to. PCI-3 connector - I assume this will be found on the next generation of cards? When are these likely to be released?

So 580 v 570, 580 consistantly faster but not much of an increase at higher resolutions

570 v 6970 - pretty even at higher resolutions, 570 slightly better.

Would one 570 or 6970 be enough to tackle BF3 / Skyrim at the moment?

Plus you get nvidia PhysX also.

I would get a single GTX570.

And then see if you upgrade your monitor or not.

Then wait for the games to come out, and see what happens.

Then either by another GTX570 second hand for under £180 for SLI.

Or just wait for the next gen stuff and sell the one GTX570.
