Death Star or Mount Doom, it depends on the day.
I haven't a clue, I don't know what to spend, I don't know what make is good, I don't know what is essential. Any help please, aiming to spend around £160! Preferably white.

White is quite hard to find and not as cheap as you think, speccing helmets is difficult as your head shape and size will dictate what you can buy safely, your best bet is to go to a shop and at least pick a comfortable model and wear it in the shop at least for 1/2 hour maybe an hour if they let you and see if you get any headaches or pressure.

I wanted to spend £150 I ended up spending £260 as it was the only one that fitted, get a simple full faced helmet, try and get a pinlock insert to stop fogging and try to get a decent make

I must honestly admit that I need a big helmet as I have a huge melon. I was looking at a make called Vemar. I will have to try it on. I am use to wearing helmets as I play American Football.

In all seriousness, go and stick a load (like LOADS) on your head, you'll find one you like!

AGV, Lazer, Shoei (might be unlikely at this price), Shark, Bell, lots of good makes about.

I've had Lazers and Shoeis on the road, and worn my dad's AGVs a little bit. His AGV is the same lid as my Lazer actually, one owns the other apparently.

THIS^^^^

Most folk are comfortable with certain lids because of the shape of their head but you won't know until you have tried a few on yer bonce.

I have an Arai shaped head. Last lid I had before my current one was an Arai RX7RR. Fitted perfectly. Current lid is an AGV Stealth Dragon which I'd put nearer a "Shoei" type fit ( tighter, narrower than an Arai ) but it fits me well. It's all seriously subjective and down to personal preference.

The only thing I'd say on the purchasing any lid is spend as much as you can possibly afford. This is for obvious reasons. ;)

You were all right, I measured the size of my head and it was a XL. But when I went to the shop and tried a few on it was a L. I bought the Caberg V2R in the end and its easily the most comfortable for me.

For sure, I have always had Arais for this reason but bought a cheaper AGV Stealth and it a nice lid but very noisy (with a lot of of wind leaking through visor)

Best bit I like though is built in flip down sun visor... no more messing with 'daytime' shaded visors.

It has 5* sharp rating also... went into shop trying lids with sharp test results on phone

When I was trying out lids I didn't bother with that sharp test lark, I just took a hammer and asked the assistant to smash it over my head. With the lid on of course, I'm not stupid.

Did you then tell him you weren't buying that one as it was damaged?
