Got you. Thanks.

Have to say, tho I'm not surprised.... People in bikers café are a lot nicer and more helpful regarding personal opinions and tastes than those motors chat room!

Much respect all!

To be fair when it comes to bikes they're more of a heart choice than a head choice so no ones going to go mental and start stamping their feet unlike when someone tries buying something other than a BMW or Mondeo in motors.

You buy what you love and you learn to love/live with the quirks.

Haha yeah sounds about right!

Tho I do own a Mondeo... So I'm considered half decent :p:D.

I still think in my heart I'm going to get the ER-6N... SV's out the window, the bandit is slightly dated, the MT07 is a bit pricey..... Meh..... That said......

I need to pass my test first haha.

The er6n is terrible. The sv650 is better in every way in my experience.

the SV650 is a snatchy beast and not passenger friendly tbh, i had a pointy for 6 years and i really did like it.

i went for a newer er650n and i will not say its loads better but it is a comfier
ride and passengers are happier on it.

if i was a newbie all over again and know what i know now i would go for the
sfv650 Gladius, comfort of the er with the fun filled sv lump.

either way you will be bored after a few months if this is you're only bike so try a z750 as a starter, mild enough a low revs, grunty enough when
given some beans.

People suggesting ER6 and SV's over a Street Triple???? mind blown.

If you can find one in budget get a Street Triple if you like them, it pretty much beats every thing else in its class.

Z750..... Wow, i'm liking this! Thanks!

The Street triple doesn't do anything for me!

Go ride a ER6 then an SV 650 then a Z750 then a Street Triple and see if it still does nothing for you ;)

On the other hand you have to like the look of the bike you're riding.

I wont be carrying anyone on the back haha!

Yeah i will be testing as many as i can before i purchase, but the z750 seems to be tipping it now due to amazing prices and a design i love!

NOTE: Having seen some video's of the Striple, i am coming around to the design.... and the fact people rave about it!

Also insurance is £12pcm on the Z750 for fire and theft ... Dont think i'l go fully comp on a £2900 bike when the excess is £600. Because lets face if i smash it up i'l have to repair it myself.

I wouldn't suggest the Street for a beginner, the bikes we are recommending aren't as harsh if you make a small mistake.

How is it when you ride it IC3 style? I heard they're fairly fragile, when ridden more dynamically...

Nope, they're called hooligan bikes for a reason as long as you're not doing stupid stuff like clutchless downshifts.

IC3 style? Who do you think you are, guy Martin? :p

You guys always say stuff like, "unless you ride like IC3" or "ride in IC3 pace" etc. Looks like I'm setting a new trend or something. :D:cool::cool:

That's called being an idiot. :D

Even my bike will do that with only 50bhp. Hard acceleration, in 1st gear, in the ****ing rain, with no TCS and (probably) 'summer' tyres?

What did he thing was going to happen!!! :D:p

Edit:

Lesson 2 on how not to ride a bike (same person):

When approaching a slight right hand corner, it's best to lean into the corner, not to panic and brake....:p

This is total nonsense!

any bike is capable of doing that if you ride like a ****, you think less hp and slower throttle response will save you?

That video is a perfect example of inexperience not just of the bike but also the conditions.

At the end of the day if your competent and level headed you can jump on any size bike and be perfectly safe and in control.
