Its actually for my dad, who is very old, riddled with dementia and has recently had a bad fall.

As a result he may need his food blending.

Apparently though you blend items individually. So I'm thinking something like a little Nutri Bullet type size with multiple bottles so several items can be blended for a meal with little washing in between.

Anybody have any experience with dealing with this sort of situation with someone who has to take their food blended?

Apologies if this is a stupid question, but when you're talking about blending items individually, do you mean that you'd serve each blended item separately, or is there another reason for doing them individually? Even the smallest blender might struggle with such small amounts of food if you're blending each component of a single meal.

It might be worth considering a stick blender, instead. That seems to be a common recommendation in this thread: https://forum.alzheimers.org.uk/threads/suitable-blender-food-processor.120953/

Also, blending larger amounts and freezing them seems to be a common suggestion. Some things will freeze better than others, of course - I've never done it, but I wouldn't fancy frozen and reheated blended cabbage, for example! I bet carrots and potatoes would work, though.

According to who? You can blend whole meals so they are like a thick soup.

Something like a Nutri Bullet would do it, although a number of brands are available. It's probably easier to use an enclosed blender rather than a stick blender IMO.

Yeah. If blended food is to go down a tube, there are only two options typically recommended. Vitamix or Blendtec. Both offer medical discounts, though with careful shopping you might be able to beat those.

Of course, if you're not planning to use a tube then you can get away with more basic blenders, but it depends how thorough you want to be and if that might be a possibility later down the line.
