Spec me a board with onboard HDMI

What are you outputting the sound to? You have four options really: S/PDIF over HDMI where you get 2 channel LPCM or DTS/AC3, 7.1 LPCM at limited resolutions, full 7.1 LPCM, and full bitstreaming.
If you're just doing this to a TV rather than an HDMI amp then you don't need to go to any lengths.

Going straight into my Pioneer amp which is in turn outputting the picture to my Kuro.

In that case you can get any board and wait for the Xonar HDMI or Auzentech Prelude addon, or wait for the G45 (available within a couple of weeks) and a patch from CyberLink or others so audio isn't downsampled.

Does anything do full bitstreaming over hdmi yet ?

I'll be looking to pair it with a onkyo amp

The Xonar HDMI can, the Prelude HDMI will I *think* and G45 will supposedly support it but it will at least do LPCM. No advantage to bitstreaming though.

One thing worth mentioning is I recently built an HTPC around an Asus M3A78-EMH HDMI.

There seems to be an issue when switching my TV off and back on again or switching input sources where the HDMi audio stops and the overscan settings are not reapplied, I suspect this is an issue with the ATI drivers not resending EDID info as I downloaded an app which resends this info and all works fine.

Other point is I found the MCE UI was a bit sluggish after playing videos or using it generally, I have now plugged a Sapphire 3450 into the machine which has improved the situation a lot. I think it could have been down to the sharing of memory on the mainboard.

For the time being I am not using HDMI and have stuck with RGB, I have not tried my Blu-Ray drive but have read that it should be okay with RGB for the minute anyway as none of the current Blu-Ray titles use HTPC for 720P but can move to HDMI when required. Don't quote me on the HTPC issue it is just what I have read although I will soon find out when I try BluRay:rolleyes:

Should mention other than a small issue I have with the clock losing time (seems to be Vista) I am very happy with the Asus board.
