Spec me a budget GPU to play skyrim on low

Hi,

My mate's GPU is suspect and is after a replacement for around £50 that will play skyrim on low settings at 1280x1024.

Rig specs are:

2GB RAM
AMD Atlon x2 2Ghz
450W PSU

Will this do?

Second hand Nvidia 260/275/280/285 GTX or ATi 4870/90 would give him far better performance. All of these can be had for around the 50 quid mark and should just about run ok on a decent 450W psu.

my mate runs skyrim on high at that res with a gtx 275. still a decent card

Also run Skyrim on high with a 4890 at 1080p which was bought for £90 about a year and a half ago. Go for about £50 now, although mine is the rarer 2gb version.

4870 or a 4890, Make sure it's a 1gb model pretty common in the members market and they are cheaper than £50
