Spec me a budget PC

Hi i wanna build a computer for my niece, mainly for homework from schools. So the most programmes she'll be using will probably ms office, internet etc. No powerfull gaming or any other powerfull programmes.

Budget under £300. I know its tight but she's only 13!

No monitor or windows required.

Keep it simple, the motherboards onboard gpu has a good selection of outputs, DVI/HDMI and DSUB depending on what you connect it too.

Went the Intel route. Still within budget and you have the ability to upgrade to the well respected i5 Sandybridge in the future if that option appeals to you. If that doesn't really appeal to you, go for the AMD route posted above.

Pity you selected a incompatible CPU and motherboard, and no heatsink.

No probs, I think that they had a few minor issues with Sandybridge motherboards, but I not aware on anything else.

Mostly yes.

But at this budget, AMD gets more stuff on the motherboards such as RAM slots and stuff.
