Spec me a budget system

Please could someone spec me a low budget system. It needs to have large, reliable storage. It will be used by an author/researcher, and they have important files which must be backed up. (RAID1????)
Also need a monitor, keyboard and mouse.
No GFX or Soundcard needed.
