My very first post here so please be kind. Ok so; we had a Medion Home/Office PC (2007 model) and much to my disgust decided it would catch fire whilst being used. So now we are on the hunt for a new one. I have bought two so far and sent both of them back, one a Dell and one a newer Medion. Both were Intel Core i5 but both were rubbish and cheap systems.
So: I have been talking to a fellow user of OCUK who strongly suggested coming on here and asking all of you for help to ensure i get the best for my money. He did suggest a build for me but mentioned that there may be better out there if ask you guys. Below i am going to list some essentials that i must have.
The computer will be used for general home/office work, internet browsing etc, but it will occassionally be used for Video Editing. Therefore, must be able to handle this with ease.
I should point out here that i will be needing mostly everything, including PSU, CPU, Mobo, Ram, Thermal Paste (if not included with CPU), DVD Drive, WiFi Card (budget dependant) and a case (nothing expensive but nice). No HDD is needed though, i already sourced one!
Here's what im after;
1) I have been told about the AMD 8 Core CPU and i like the idea of that, but i am basically asking for the best CPU i can get for my budget. Not bothered whether it's AMD or Intel but it must be a minimum of Quad Core.
2) 8GB Ram
3) PC Case: Require 2x CD Bays on the front minimum, Headphone & Mic on front panel, cable management option too. Looking for a Midi system, not a Micro, i want some space for AirFlow (the reason my old one caught fire!!!)
4) USB 3.0 on mobo - will also be using onboard graphics too, so the mobo will need to support this.
Other than the above, i think everything else should be pretty straight forward.
I know i have said a lot but i would also like to point out that i am not particularly interested in it being OC, i would but rather get a very good CPU, stick in the mobo and away i go, as i am not confident enough to have a OC or try and OC myself.
My budget is £330 MAX including Delivery if possible.
