Hi All

I am looking for some advice, my son want's a bit of a do everything within reason system, gaming, school work, some video editing but not lots, mainly gaming i would say aswel as general pc stuff, no need for screens, just the base unit, decent keyboard and mouse to.

This is for Christmas, i have a budget of £800 - £1000 for it, AMD or Intel, single or dual graphics if possible and he needs to be able to output to 3 HD screens. I would prefer a pre built system but self build is an option, no operating system needed.

Thanks in advance.

**Edit: He wants it to light up green also, so some matching coloured hardware and lighting\led's would be good.**

The D3HP isn't a true dual GPU mobo. I'd also prefer an ATX mobo rather than mATX if you are going to use dual GPUs.

Green is tricky to do right for the budget, red or blue would be easier to be honest.....

You won't see the red on the GPU once it's fitted anyway to be fair.

Thanks guys, i noticed these are all Intel, is it worth getting an AMD? What about Intel i7's for my budget, I agree, green is looking a bit harder, so any other colour will be fine, thanks for all the replies.

i7 will eat into your GPU budget. Considering your son games on 3 hd screens, you cant really afford to go budget on the graphics. I am not even sure if a single 280x will be fine for eyefinity (mainly because i have never used eyefinity), if you find people saying it isn't, i would recommend two 7950s over a 280x.

This will have some green illumination as the sound section of the motherboard is separated and illuminated with green LED's that also add a glow around the edge of the board.

Also means you never need a dedicated sound card as the onboard sound is top notch:)
