Spec me a build, please?

Oh damn, that kinda puts a spanner in the works for an x99 setup then. Hmm.

The software id be using on it the most would be lightroom, photoshop and sony vegas which i believe will benefit from the extra cores provided by the x99 setup, but without igpu i could use in the meantime until i can afford to add a discrete gpu its one of two options i think.

Option one - Z170 and 6700k.
Option two - Wait a bit longer, until i have enough to buy all at once then build, by which point im sure the next best thing will be out haha.

What happened to the days where ALL motherboards/cpus came with atleast a basic IGPU option. Seems you pay more for less these days with everything. :(
 
I would definitely go for X99 if you're going to be editing.

The CPUs have the iGPU now, Intel removes this on the enthusiast range to make room for more CPU cores. You can always get some real cheap second hand GPU to tie you over.
 
I always build AMD. Get a FX Chip, r9 200 series, kraken water cooler, corsair 850 gold PSU and a water cooler midi case (£70).

This build won't cost you as much as Intel builds. More for your money if you ask me.

The FX chips can't even come close to X99/Haswell-E chips.

I never compared the chips. The FX's can get hot, but nothing water cooling cant fix (this is probably the way you would go with Intel anyway).

With respect to the last comment. I wouldn't exactly consider the FX to be something of extremely poor quality comparing all aspects.

Buy an FX and save money to spread on other components was only my suggestion lol. :)

I never play games how they stand and require 100+ modifications (2k,4k textures etc). The only problem I have come across was using ENB Series - http://enbdev.com/.

I have never seen any games ever look as good as this and the build mentioned does the job with some water cooling systems. Why overspend now with the new technology being released soon;will put everything in this forum thread to shame hopefully.
