Spec me a build

ok in the near future i am looking to build a storage pc as my hard drive in my main pc are full, now i have never done raid ect b4 and i am looking to have maby 8 or 9 terabyte of storage.
what i will want it to do is minimal i want it to be able to run a nfs server over my lan so i can watch the hd material stored on the pc on my wdtv and to download directly onto it.

price i would like to keep as low as possible i have some spare components lying around i have
4gb ddr2
corsair hx 620w psu
and i should have a core 2 duo E8500

Do you have a case? with almost 10tb of storage that could be a lot of HDDs, unless you use all 2tb ones. Now I'm not great with RAID but I would assume you would want a RAID card.

Other than definitely reuse the parts you already have.

You could get a new case or you could try and use that, how many drives can it hold comfortably?

Cost = £482 with shipping.

Reasons: I'm not sure whether you need a GPU or not for hosting over LAN, if not you can choose a G41 (or G31 etc..) with onboard graphics, the case can hold 5 Hard drives (10th if all 2TB hard drives) and I have included 6TB f storage at this price. Also it has a DVD/RW drive in there too. This also uses your old power supply, E8500 and 4gb Ram. Also a nice new cooler

They only have 4 SATA connectors, would need to get an IDE drive and it still maxes out the board's potential (at least it doesn't make you itchy for a new upgrade

).

I guess a proper RAID controller is unavoidable anyway:

A G**chipset board, with a SATA Controller card.

yem my blackline case would hold 4 drives np

will prolly go with what krugga sudgested.
unless anyone has a better option?
as it turns out i amy have a spare mobo to use also i really should check whats in my loft lol.
