Spec me a bundle...

Hi all.

After over 6 years running the same core system I think its time to buy fresh components.

I'm after a Motherboard, CPU, and RAM. I have everything else.

I'm a little out of touch with what's best these days (ie AMD or INTEL). I have no real preference to which I like more.

I'd like to keep the budget within £300-400 if possible, the pc will be used for internet surfing, gaming (older games and Skyrim).

My current spec is Q6600, 4GB DDR2 RAM, an OC'd GTX460 1GB.

will you be overclocking the CPU?

I doubt it, so maybe pre-overclocked would be an idea?

well reason I asked is that you can effectively get i7 (Xeon 1230v3) and cheap B85 board for the price of 4670K + Z87 + cooler. maybe even slightly cheaper.

example:

1230v3 185
B85 G43 65
2x4GB 1600MHz 55
m500 240GB 85

390 altogether with SSD included. I'm running almost identical setup myself, but with v2.

I was looking at the bundles section on OCUK too.
