im a Virgin Media customer and since they installed the Superhub 3 the WiFi connection is terrible so I’m looking for a good spec router to use, budget of around £150 max.

Thanks.

The Archer C7 is pretty good, should be about £80. It's what I had when I was with Virgin.

At the top end of your budget you will probably be recommended the Asus RT-AC68U - but I have no experience of that.

In this case, would you plug the Ubiquiti into the Virgin router, and use the Virgin router with all functions (i.e. modem, routing) but wifi turned off?

Does "lightening the load" on the Virgin hub improve the latency issue at all?

Yes plug it in and turn off wireless on the SH3. It won't improve latency at all, only a new modem will or improvements in VM's network if it's a congestion issue.
