...in the £90-£120 price range, definitely no more.

  • Needs to be easy to use
  • USB upload to PC (no firewire on their PC)
  • Memory card preferable (cant see them faffing with tapes or mini-DVD's)
  • Decent battery life
  • HD preferable
  • Easy software for DVD burning (they arent tech-dinosaurs but still...)
Have only started looking, on the South American Wet Trees site I spotted one "Flip Video Ultra High Definition Camcorder (8GB)", which seems to fit the bill, but concerned about battery life/recharging issues, other than that it seems to fit the bill for their requirements.

Any advice, or alternate ideas would be most welcome chaps!

Look at the Argos catalogue, then go online.

For that price range, you're not going to get something awesome in any regard... but you will get "fun to use" gadgets that record video.

Legend man, right up my (their?) street that is.

Theres a decent video review of one touch camcorders on the gadget show website too

They liked the Sanyo Exacti VPC-CS1 HD but felt the Kodak Playsport was better. The video says the Sanyo is £225, but you can find out for £150 without much trying.

Worth nothing however, this budget is going to get you an "average" camera at best. Its going to have bits you dont like. If you want to get them a "good" camera and not have to worry about things that arent what you like / arent good enough or whatever, you need to up the budget.

Yep, fun and easy to use is the name of the game in this instance, plus as it is it's 3 of us spending £30-40 each tops. Will have a look at the others MrLOL.
