I need to make some instructional videos for some projects that I am working on.

They will be filming small items similar to mobile phones or other small handheld items at a desk. I will also head outdoors and demonstrate them in use.

I need a camera that will do good video for around £600 or less.

A microphone input would be ideal, I don't fancy switching lenses as it seems to be a bit of a pain.

Is there any camera that has a reasonably good "all round" lens with a mic input? Or must I go with a interchangeable lens device?

I have both a Panasonic G7 and FZ1000 both are great camera's and shoot very good video, only issue with the FZ1000 is you can hear the IBIS on the video (using an external mic solves the issue).
The FZ1000 doesn't have a touchscreen

both also take great stills, the G7 has a bigger sensor so will produce better pics than the FZ1000 (more so in low light and adding a fast prime lens).

From what you have mentioned in your post I think either camera will do what you want.

Add an external mic, the Rode videomicro is a good mic for approx £50.

I am thinking a selling my FZ1000, and getting a Canon 80d or Panasonic G85.. the Canon has better AF for video but doesn't shoot 4k, the G85 is basically an updated G7.

cheers
