Ok im a complete camera noob but looking to take shots of the kids, cars etc and take it from there.

Currently have a Fujifilm Finepix S2000HD but Im not particularly happy with the quality of the images it takes.

Can you spec me a camera that will produce better quality images and is simple enough for a noob like me to use. Basically a great all rounder that a chimp could get results with :D

Budget is around £500

There is a canon 50D going in MM (just over your budget) and you could pick up a very cheap lens (many on MM). Alternatively there are a few 1000D's on MM which could be a good starting point? (If you wanted new, 1000D and 1100D can be had for sub £500)

The 50D would be a very good starting point... Had I not already splashed out on my 550D I would be seriously considering the 50D on there.
 
thank you have had a read round and am going to go for the 1000D as it seems like a great entry level camera and is under budget which leaves me extra for accesories :)
