I need a camera quite urgently and need a bit of help. My needs are few, but simple.

Small. Trouser pocket size.
Decent build. No plastic TOMY built crap please.
Average zoom. I would say 150-200 more than enough
Wi-Fi
HDR mode if poss
Budget £100-£200. As always cheaper the better.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Also do most cams now have proprietary batteries rather than needing to take out a bank loan for loads of AA batteries?

I don't think it has HDR in-camera, but have a look at the Canon S110. It's an older model thats been replaced by the S120, but you'd be looking at near enough doubling your budget for one.

It has wifi, a decent zoom range, good build quality and can be had for around the £200, probably for less second hand if thats an option?

I'm quite happy with my Fuji XF1, well made, 25-100mm f1.8-4.6 lens and £130. The X10 (28-112mm f2-2.8) has a much brighter lens at longer focal lengths, an optical viewfinder and more features, but it's probably not easy to carry in a trouser pocket.

I wanted something pocketable as a DSLR alternative, so went for the XF1. The EXR modes are useful- you can trade resolution for dynamic range or low noise. Neither have wifi, but you could add an Eye-Fi SD card.
