Spec me a cannon DSLR with lenes -£1500

Hi all

So my work has moved on and I'm in need of a decent camera to scout with, I will need to take pics of landscapes, houses, rooms, you name it I will prob need to photograph it!

I have roughly £1500 to spend as a max will need a wide lense I assume for rooms etc and maybe a decent zoom lense!

I have been looking at the 550D but not looked into lenses yet!? Is that a good body to be considering for what I need?

That's a great budget - would you consider going second-hand? If so, I'd recommend a 5Dmk2 and 17-40mm f4L. There's plenty around on the Talk Photography classified forums.

I'd consider 2nd hand yes! That's my top top budget I'd rather come in less but I'm easy! Just really need it to take great shots for me lol

Canon 5D Mk1 Second hand - c. £550
Canon 17-40L Second hand - c. £400
Canon 28-135 IS - c. £250

I'd go with what Ksanti said (if you don't need video), but I'd swap the 28-135mm out for a 24-105L.

This. 24-105Ls come it at around £500 IIRC.

You may also want a monopod/tripod for indoor shot's

17-55 f2.8 IS USM (630 grey import).

Unless you truely want to go full frame!

so I'm going to head into my local camera store on friday and pic something up brand spanking!

Im leaning towards the 550d as it seems a cheap enough body with more than enough features for me! is it best to stick to cannon lenses? want to bring my budget down by a lot if possible. as i have just decided to move closer to london next month, so want to use the money for part of a deposit!

If your going to be doing interiors, then a FF camera makes more sense :confused:

Slightly more sense but I don't get the impression the OP is looking to be the next famous photographer more just to get the job done for his requirments (bearing in mond the cheap as possible comments) I'd go with

All Second hand

500D - £250
Sigma 10-20mm - £250
Sigma Flash - £100
Sigma 17-70mm (OS Version) - 240

well under budget and more than cover the job!
