Well with the release of numerous new games, it has become evident that my 8800GTX is starting to struggle. Im looking for a new card that can play games such as Fallout 3 and Farcry 2 on the highest settings without any problems.

I know there is only going to be 2 cards in the running, the 4870X2 or the 280 GTX but which one is my question. The rest of my machine is good enough for now; Q6600 and 4GB of memory.
 
Sorry, im usless when it comes to hardware. The standard 4870 would be more than capable of running all the newest games, full whack ?

My old card is hopefully going to sell on the bay, so as soon as it does ill be getting a new one. Ive been checking the net for some prices and it looks like im going to go for the 4870.
 
Right, the time is here and im about to buy this card. How do you find yours playing games, what sort of settings etc you able to run them on and is there much oc'ing potential.

well im playing at 1680x1050 rez all games 4 aa or 8 aa 16 af everything on highest settings.

overclocks alright i guess 800 core 1000 memory
