Hi All

Looking for a new graphics card to put in my new build and need some recommendations as I’m way out of touch these days :(

Price: Looking around the £140 ish mark
Purpose: I’m not a hard core gamer, so only really dabble in AA3, counter strike and Call of Duty 4
Screen: 1 x 1920x1200

Considerations so far:

Many thanks

For the past 5 years I’ve only gone with NVIDIA due to a driver issue I had way back when Radeon cards where a new concept. I vowed never to go ATI again, but now I see a massive trend for people to buy ATI and also a lot of talk that NVIDIA are having issues as a company?

I have used both brands for years and years now and i have never had any problems from either company's. However both company's have come along way over the last 5 years. I would say go for the 4890. I wouldnt say Radeon cards where a new concept 5 years ago though...

The 4890 is the beefier card but if your sat surfing the net etc 90% of the time with the computer the 5770 will save you a fair few bob in electrity and won't be much slower.

not sure with electricity of 4890 or 5770, but both are very good cards, just pick one between the two, 5770 might be a better choice, can save it for future upgrade
