I have the following;

G1.Sniper 2 (v1.0)
i7 2700k @3.5gh
16gb Ram

I currently have just got back into gaming, playing Elite Dangerous. I have an Asus 560ti.

Can someone spec me a decent upgrade in the region of £150 or tell me not to bother.
Other option is to buy another 560ti and Sli???

Thoughts???

Don't bother with SLI because they're a bit too old and the 1GB will still limit you a lot. A GTX 960 would be a pretty big upgrade from a 560Ti.

Although if going second hand as Andy pointed out a 290 would be an immense upgrade.

yeah SLIing 1gb cards is a no go.

as said, if you could scrape a 2nd hand 290, then that would be awsome. if not, a 2nd hand 7950/7970/280/280x/770/780 would be decent.

I dont really see anything in the new market worth that money to be honest. maybe a 280(x)...

Yes, I think a second hand 290 as mentioned above will be your best option. I wouldn't bother trying to find another 560ti to SLI with, even if you have a 2gb model. If you struggle to find a 290 within your price range, then you could always drop in a 280X / GTX770.

Having now read around a bit based on the recs provided I have swung toward blowing my head tracker budget on the card too...

I am leaning toward a 970 card dues to heat and noise, due mainly to the man cave being a small room.
I will be mounting on the Gigabite G1.Sniper2 Version 1.0 board.

Anyone had experience or willing to provide advice on this?

PSU shouldn't be a problem. The Maxwell cards are so efficient the 970 has 25w lower tdp than a 560Ti while being well over double as fast.

I would be tempted to go for the kfa2 Infinity Black 970. The G1 Gaming 970 I used to have was really cool and quiet but it's a bit too expensive.

If it's Corsair and 1000w it's a non issue and I wouldn't even bother worrying about it. Even if it was 750w any single high end GPU would be fine.
