Hey dudes,

There's a crap load of Great cases out there but i have no idea what to choose from.
Can anyone Spec me a high end full tower case, I've previously had the DF-85 but i really didn't like it.

I was thinking of getting the HAFX or one of the x-Predator cases or something.
What say you?

So its a decent case?
Better than the ones mentioned above?

You mentioned Marmite cases. I hate the looks.

Its an amazing case for the price if your going to watercool. Its up there with the Asylum. However for watercooling. Look at the Fractal Designs collection and Corsair. Anidees might be a good shot too

Hmm thanks for the feedback guys, The shinobi looks nice. Tons of features too.

I will be looking to set up water cooling soon, a custom loop of course.

I find it ironic that people are suggesting the shinobi xl....

Whilst I admittedly like it on paper, there aren't even reviews out yet... The switch 810 looked like it was going to be amazing, and it didn't get stellar reviews....

The HAF X is a stunning and high quality case.
I'd suggest looking at the silver stone raven as well, and if you can stretch to it the ft02B.
The corsair 650D is also pretty good in that budget.

All bitfenix cases are pretty similar regarding build quality, materials and some features, therefore we can guess fairly accurately as to what the XL will be like e.g. all the antec P series are pretty much the same regarding, well, pretty much everything.

The normal shinobi is extremely well regarded (although IMO not great for stock cooling with only the one 120mm spectre fan, but plenty of optional places to mount more fans if required) and many users seem to love the case.

The XL looks just the same as the shinobi but bigger and has some improved features and going by my use with the Raider (which IMO is better than the shinobi), the XL shouldn't disappoint especially considering the price of it.

Main things that are great about the XL IMO are;

- 2x230mm fans [mounted on top and the front] (which move a good amount of air and looking at the specs of them, they are also very quiet. The 120mm spectres are the quietest fans I have used even when set to high, they are still pretty damn quiet whilst being pretty good for cooling considering the noise levels. So the 230mm fans should be just as quiet if not quieter than the 120mm fans) and you also get 1x120mm fan at the back
- optional way of mounting the hard drive cage
- very good for water cooling (which the OP wants)
- cable management for the Raider is great and again the XL looks the same regarding rubber grommets positions (except more rubber grommets/holes for cables) etc. but an extra 10mm of space between the side panel and the back of the motherboard tray for cables
- IMO much much better case for looks than the other 2
- build quality of the Raider is very good as well (except the feet and the side panels are quite flimsy due to how thin they are, however, in a video for the un-boxing of the XL, the guy said that the side panels didn't feel flimsy at all and that they were pretty thick)
- And the SofTouch finish is an outstanding material, looks great and feels great

etc. etc.

So I would be very surprised if it doesn't do well in reviews tbph.

Also the OP didn't mention anything about midi towers, just mentioned full tower case, but if he is willing to consider a midi tower then I suggest:

- corsair 650D
- antec p280 super midi
- corsair 600T
- bitfenix raider
- corsair 550D if you can wait

EDIT:

Why would you get flamed for suggesting that case stulid? :p

Lets seee if I get flamed for this, Antec P280.

Your not getting flamed. But I can't see antec releasing a Side Panel review#

The shinobi xl is just a shinobi where they've opened it in photoshop. Pressed Ctrl + T, dragged it to the bottom right and clicked save. I think the cooling wont matter as he is watercooling so theres not the air thats got to move around the case if you get what I mean. So it will be good.

I have only had Midi Towers before so i wanted to try a full tower case :D
when i say i will be watercooling soon, i dont mean within a few months. so either way, the cooling is important.

I would also need to make sure there is clearance for a Thermaltake Silver Arrow.

Well the stock air cooling should be pretty good for the XL and if you aren't satisfied with the stock cooling, just add a couple more fans or/and replace them with better cooling ones.

There should be plenty of room for any heat sink! The thing is massive! :D

Here is an un-boxing video of the XL, gives a nice oversight of the case:

Do Antec cases have the same fit and finish as others, I dont think they do, they are good and 99% of people will be happy with them, but others do have tighter panel gaps and a nicer feel to them.

I think you are getting confused, i'm explaining why I might get flamed for suggesting an Antec when there are better quality cases on the market in the same price range and in this thread.

Where did I say that bitfenix cases are the same as antec cases?

Huh? haven't said anything in this thread about Bitfenix.

OH! :o I thought you were referring to this bit (but just quoted the wrong part) and took it the wrong way;

Sorry, my bad.

Think I need more coffee :p

EDIT:

Just re-read your post, makes more sense now! :p That will teach me not to reply to posts as soon as I wake up :p :o

Going for the bitfenix shinobi xl myself. The price is fantastic for a full tower, excellent cable management. Black interior, i currently own a lian li a70f full tower. Beautifully built, but bare aluminium inside, no cable management. Has put me off it.

Ahh nice, do let us know how well it is, it looks like a pretty good case. My mate loves the HAFX personally and says the Shinobi XL is plain and ugly, i don't think i agree with that at all.
