My Lian Li PC7B's starting to vibrate badly from every orifice, so looking to replace it in the near future.

Doesn't need massive cooling properties, as I'm only running an E8400 at stock with a Scythe Ninja Rev. B and 120mm fan, and an Asus board with onboard Geforce 9300 GPU, but I would ideally like a 120mm intake and outlet, just in case.

I don't want any flashing lights if possible, and nothing with a door, as I burn lots of CD's/DVD's and find it a pain to keep opening and closing the door!

The cheaper and quieter the better please. :)

Edit: Have found the Coolermaster Sileo 500 for £63 delivered, looks subtle and silent, any opinions on it please?

The PC7 is a great case, why change it? Especially to an Antec 300 which is a cheap cruddy case, coated in a lot of plastic. Very functional, but very generic inside really IMO.

Solve the vibration issue, whats rattling?
Add mass to the panels, soft mount hdds etc :)

As above: You want to ditch a Lian li for an Antec 300?

It is true that the PC7 doesn't have the better vibration damping that some of the latest models do.

I would take the side panels off and see if that solves the problem. If so (likely) then you can work on the side panels. On my PC007 I found the main culprit for rattles was the bottom runners on the side panels (not the main case). A bit of minor bending with pliers here and maybe strategic blutak onto the main body where the panels contact worked for me.
Should cost you less than a fiver, for blutak and pliers.

If it's not the side panels then track down the noise as jellybeard says, I just don't see the need for a new case.

Now see I'd always been led to believe Lian-Li = quality, however the words "strategic blu-tac" lead me to believe otherwise, lol

haha, thats true! But its one of the lower end Lian-Li cases, but still around £70 I guess. Im looking at getting a Lian-Li soon, they are def good quality cases and nothing beats them for looks IMO. I would def try and stop the vibrating in your case rather than buy a completely new case

LOL.

I admit it's a lo-tech solution but the side panel rattle is quite well known I think, and it has been resolved in the latest cases. I have a PC7F right now after my blutak modded PC007.

Would strategic sellotape encourage you more towards Lian Li? ;)

These things should quieten your HDD... not used them myself but the review on there seems to say they work well.

You can also look here, a few posts down theres somthing about bungee mounting your HDD.

Both use up a 5.25" bay, but both should reduce vibrations

Think I'll invest in a puck of blutak and some double sided sticky tape then, see how far that gets me!

My HDD's already in a Scythe Quiet Drive, it's mostly my DVD-RW that seems to be vibrating now!

In a word, Yes!

Cant believe anybody is recommending the 300 over the CM690.

The 300 is just so bloody tight with zero room to work in and no cable management options without the use of dremel.

Built one for a mate a couple of weeks ago and hated every second of it & its certainly not worth the £50+ its retailing at currently.

The CM690 will take 7 120mm fans, has pre-cut holes in the mobo tray for some cable tidy goodness and is 60mm longer which makes a world of difference when its comes to getting a new GPU in there as the new cards are only getting longer.

I would sort out your case if I was you. I have used antec 300's for friends builds who don't want to spend a lot on cases. They get the job done but they are so plastic i can't stand them tbh :P I also find i can hear the hard drive far too much compared to a Lian Li.

They were a good case for the money when i brought them for £35 now i'm not too sure since i would rather go for Lian Li PC-A05B yea i know it's nearly twice the price but the build is so much better.
