Hi there,

New rig time and I'm looking for a decent case this time as in the past i've had cheaper units to just get my by, ideally it will have a removable motherboard tray to make life easyer when fitting the motherboard with CPU and Heatsink... would like plenty of room so probably full hight? Thats what I'm really not sure of..

Budget is about £100 but can be little over if needed this will be housing a new ivy and Nvidia 680 so if you recommend a case and surgest replacing the stock fans with better ones then I'd be most grateful if you could recommend what fans would be best :)

Thanks guys!

^See this thread.

Doubt you're going to get a case with a removable motherboard for <£100.

Anyway,

For 'Silent cases', look at the Fractal R3 or Corsair 550D. They're the two top cases, and there really isn't much between them. The 'Full height' version of the Fractal R3 is the Fractal Define Design XL.

For 'Gaming' or less silent orientated cases, you're looking at one of the following really:
Corsair 500R - Solid case, not too bad, but I feel like Corsair have better cases out there that overshadow the 500R a bit. It's not great for the price, kind of an average, relatively good case.
Silverstone RV03 - Great case, very good for airflow, and slightly quirky, also isn't as much of an 'in the face' as some of the other cases.
CM Storm Trooper - Again a great case, and very good for airflow. This is a really great case if you can cope with the looks of the thing.
CM 690 ii - actually a pretty good case for middle-range watercooling. Getting old now, but the revamped version is slightly better.

The Storm Trooper is probably the better case if you can cope with the looks. The RV03 would be my choice otherwise.

The RV03, you won't have to change the stock fans, the Silverstone fans are top notch to be honest.

In the CM Storm, I'd probably recommend you replace the fans with one of four choices:
I'd go with the 120mm fan options:
Akasa Apaches, Scythe Gentle Typhoons, NF-F12s, Silverstone AP120 (now see why the RV03 has good fans) :p
The NF-F12s are the best IMO, then the Silverstones. The GT's are very good for watercooling. If you're looking for something more 'budget' the CM Storm cases original fans are good enough that they'll compete with any fan up to about £8

I would say if you do get the CM Storm Trooper, it isn't a necessity to change the case fans. Just if you choose to upgrade down the line you can do with the above options, but yeah, don't feel you have to, I've just recommended them because you ask for opinion.
