Hi all,

After recent problems with temperatures even at normal CPU speeds (see threads passim on OC forum), I reckon that it's time to retire my old Alienware case and get a new one.

Current build as follows:

Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD3R Intel X58 (Socket 1366) DDR3 Motherboard
Intel Core i7 920 2.66Ghz (Nehalem) (Socket LGA1366)
Akasa AK-967 Nero Direct Contact Heatpipe CPU Cooler (AM2/AM2+/939/LGA775/LGA1366)
Samsung SpinPoint F1 1TB SATA-II 32MB Cache
Asus GeForce GTX 480 1536MB GDDR5 PCI-Express
GeIL 6GB (3x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz VALUE PLUS Triple Channel
Corsair TX 650W ATX SLi Compliant Power Supply

I've been looking at this, which gets good reviews and is about what I'm looking to spend:

Is this a good option? I don't want another flashy case (fed up with the Alienware one), just something decent that will do the job and keep my components cooler.

Also prob in market for another cooler, as the current one is an absolute PITA to attach (pushpins won't click into MB without extreme force). Have had this recommended, would anyone disagree, or suggest another since it's out of stock at the moment?

Thanks for help

I would suggest the Antec 100 instead of the 300. It may be a lower number, but it is better/newer. Here is a review

I would also suggest adding two extra 120mm fans to the case (I would recommend one as a front intake, and the other as a side intake - blowing air onto the GPU area). These fans are good.

As for a CPU cooler for a i7 930, this would be my recommendation (when it comes back in stock). If you need something that is in stock now - this is an excellent cooler (you will also need to add one or two 120mm fans to it - the sharkoon fans I linked to above would be ideal.
