Hey guys,

This is part one of what will be a multi-part upgrade to my setup; getting the more boring bits out of the way in a few bite-sized chunks to stop me from realising how much I'm spending :p

Current build is an i7 3770k, 16Gb XMS3, MSI 970, Gigabyte D3H (or something like that)... Housed in an Antec P183 with Antec CP850 PSU... The plan is to build a 2nd, more powerful machine (likely X99 5820K, 980Ti, etc.), but keep the old machine around (for a dual PC setup)

I want to keep the current case + PSU for the new build, so I'm looking for a new case + PSU to move the existing system into. Preferably something reasonable without breaking the bank (hoping for ~£100 for case + PSU but can stretch a little). Requirements:

Case:
- Nothing flashy; no window, no funky lighting (similar in tone to the P183)
- Must have dust filters
- Space for minimum of 3 drives (1 SSD + 2 mechanical drives)
- Mid tower (full seems overkill), but must still fit ATX mobo
- Must be able to fit my CPU cooler (it's a Be Quiet Dark Rock II)

PSU:
- The previous 850W seems like it might have been overkill, so willing to go lower to save money (but not too low!)
- Preferably braided cables
- Preferably at least semi-modular

From a quick browse I was contemplating a (matching?) Antec P100 plus the Superflower Golden Green 550W... but any other suggestions?

The Neos comes in a decent range of colours as well. For a £30 case it's good value. The Superflower Golden Green 550W is a good PSU for £60. If you can spare another £5, the Leadex is on offer until next Wednesday. If you don't mind the LEDs, it's a fully modular PSU for £65.

Thanks guys :) Apologies for leaving you all hanging the best part of a day - I thought I'd have time to post again yesterday but ended up being a bit busy!

The Super Flower Leadex seems like a decent PSU for the money, and although I like some of the other suggestions I might see if I can stretch for the Phanteks Enthoo

The Enthoo Pro is a great case - it's what my main system's in. It does weigh a bit more than some other cases though, but that's because it's made of a decent gauge sheet metal.

You know what's going to happen though don't you... I'm going to get the Enthoo Pro... end up preferring it to the P183... put the new system inside it instead of moving the old one into it... and then later end up ordering a second Enthoo for the old system...

Quite possible! The build quality of mine was very good. It was the first case I've had that didn't have any sharp edges.

With my X99 system in it though, it weighs a ton!

Weight isn't so much of a problem - I stick my cases on the floor but on top of wooden boards with giant plastic furniture-glide feet... the extra height off the floor helps a little bit with the dust-hoovering effect, and the gliding feet make it really easy to unplug the cables and slide the case out from under the desk to work on it...

I do like the P183 a lot too though... I expect if I do replace it it won't be for a little while (plus with so much other stuff to buy to do the rest of the upgrade I can't justify it right now!)

Well the Enthoo and PSU turned up yesterday - haven't got the rest of the new system yet so not quite ready to transfer it over but I'm really impressed with the case - Thanks guys!

Blimey this thing is HUGE though - if anything it's slightly bigger than the P183 (definitely wider, similar sort of height). As expected I'm now contemplating whether I can justify picking up a second one to replace the P183 :p
