Spec me a case

I'm upgrading my PSU as I'm having problems powering a 280GTX after recently doing a swap with a friend (I have a 500w Antec EarthWatts). I though that considering my case needed to be pulled apart I would upgrade that too.

Currently I have a P182 but its getting a bit worn, lots of scrathches on etc. I love the case and originally bought it as a silent case and I liked the looks of it. Looking at cases now nothing seems to really stands out and make me think I want to buy you!

So I'm looking to spend about £80 and am looking for a case that is silent, looks cool (black inside) and is no bigger than my current case.

Thanks

Hayley

Hi Hayley

Thousands out there to choose from in this price range, i'm sure you've trawled around looking at them.

Before you fork out though, have you thought about modding the one you've got??? Even if just a respray in an alternative colour.

It'll occupy a bit of your time, you'll enjoy it and you'll be left with something unique.

And if you mess it up, well you were going to get a new case anyway weren't you so apart from a few hours and a few quid on spray paint what have you lost???

For that budget there aren't much cases which actually have quiet design: Fractal Design R2.

Now is that any wonder when huge majority of cases are yelling "cheap Chinese plastic toy".

Yeh I did look at the fractal ones but they just seemed a bit similar looks wise to the P182. I guess if its something really special I could stretch to a bit more.

As for the xigmatek cases I quite like the Orange but not seen any built up in my search so can't really get a feel for what it looks like.

Spraying my current case sounds like fun, I will most likely reuse it for my media pc so whatever I end up doing that will be a nice little project when I'm off work :D

You sure that is not a 280GTX? ;)

Anyways I have not really seen a similar but all round better case than the P182. Hmmm part of me thinks the only way to get something completely different :)

Want to replace a P182 because it has a few marks on it?!? Get it sprayed, much cheaper.

If you do want to wreck another case and replce it in two years I would suggest one of the Lancool Dragon cases, great cooling, latest features and great lines.

Buy that Lian li pc-b10 in the members market it's as new and boxed I'd be all over it if i didn't have a fortress ft01 already.
