As title really.

I am looking for something around the £1000 mark. (£1500 at a push).

And ideally it would be a sports tourer....something I don't need to be hunched over :D

I've only held my license for a year, so I probably wouldn't be wanting anything more than a 600.

So far the suggestions I have recieved are the Kawasaki ZZR600 and the Yamaha thundercat 600.

Is there anything you lovely lot would reccomend I keep my eyes open for?

regards.

Honda CBR600F? They go for miles so don't worry about a relatively high mileage one.
Or a VTR maybe?

The ZZR and the Thunderpants are good choices.

The VTR1000 Firestorm is worthy of a look if you like V twins, and the insurance is lower than typical litre bikes so might be worth getting a quote.

Other possibilities are Suzuki GSF600 Bandit, Suzuki RF600, older CBR600F, Yamaha XJ600 Diversion (they are pretty slow though) or with just a little bit more budget you might even get a Yamaha FZS600.

Bear in mind an awful lot of sub £1000 600's will be complete dogs, so be careful.

zx6r g1/g2 j1/j2

little bit leaner/lighter and more powerfull than the zzr,has big comfy seats also

Thankyou for the replies...I quite like the look of the cbr600f, and the suzuki rf600.

Ideally as said I want to stay away from the sports bike style seating position.

I currently ride a 800 v twin cruiser, and the last time I jumped on a sports bike it was a bit of a shock to the system :P
