Hi guys. Just bought my first camera a Cannon SX50 supershot HS to try and get my head round all the numerous amount of settings there is to taking some half decent wildlife and night time shots and need some recomendations for (tripod. Remote/timer.And some standard filters) to start off with.
I went for the sx50 as i dont fancy carrying loads of lenses about with me when out and about.

Red Snapper, tripods are good value.

My one does everything I need and is much more solid then a typical cheapo Jessops tripod. The only thing I don't like is the RSH-528 head doesn't till very far back.

I type this in 90% of tripod threads but...

Working in a camera shop I have access to a lot of different tripods and generally for anything less than around the £150 you're pushing your luck to get a tripod I'd even remotely consider sturdy, and then it weighs an absolute ton.

I've got an excessively expensive Gitzo head that cost more than a lot of people's camera as the one I had previously (a Redsnapper RSH-12) wasn't up to the job with almost 5kg of camera. The next logical step was to look at Gitzo legs and I found that I realistically wasn't gaining much over the Redsnapper legs I purchased for £50.

The Redsnapper RS-284 are my legs of choice when I'm out specifically to do photos, it's a bit weighty but sturdy as they come; I've even used it in a storm with my D3 and 28-70 2.6 and had complete confidence in it (and pin sharp results from it) :D
