what do you guys recommend? don't fancy spending silly money but something that will give good quality footage and ideally a removable memory card

any suggestions?

I picked up a very cheap dash cam, a GS8000L I think it was called, just to have a play with, seems OK really for the price ~£16 or around that price.

0801 say what £40 from amazon, chuck in a dirt cheap microSD, job done.
They don't like faster cards which makes the cards even cheaper :p
Fairly generous on the cable length Ive router mine from mirror along to pillar, down pillar, under floor carpet and then it pops up beside the cigarette lighter.

Does you cigarette 12v power off with the engine? If not it may just constantly run the camera and drain ya battery.

probably get my autospark to wire any dashcam into an ignition feed

is there any options without a screen? i'd rather something as discrete as possible

I think you can set the screen to not come on on most cameras, or do you want one without a screen for a smaller form factor?

It might be difficult to setup without a screen, unless you are wiring it up into a screen that is in your car already?

I have the Mobius, very good camera for the price. Only annoying thing is it seems to keep losing the date stamps and I can't work out why.

I've always made sure that nothing is left on display when parking my car, do dashcams like these stand out?

The 0801 does not. However, it's best to replace the white sticky pad with a black one to reduce visibility even more.

Yep good idea or with my 0801's I used some Heavy Duty Stick on Tape black Velcro so that I can remove camera and GPS unit together, Safe wear and tear on the camera & GPS unit connector.
