Heya guys, my 4890, as detailed in a previous post has been having some issues of late with distortion on the picture, artifacts etc.. after a few reseats it comes to life for a small time then upon next restart needs 3 or 4 reseats to get it working again, I have requested an RMA with OcUK and will be sending it over this week. I really need to get a card to keep me going until this one is either replaced, or I get account credit from OcUK and buy a new card.

No real requirements, I don't want to spend a lot, as little as possibe really, I don't play any PC games right now, I'll be buying Star Wars: The Old Republic, when that comes out, and maybe WoW Cataclysm, but other than that all my gaming is done on consoles.

I don't need or want a "high" spec card for the next few weeks/months, something that doesn't cost much, has a DVI output plus another DVI, a HDMI or a VGA, and wil not struggle to run 2 screens at 1920x1280P resolutions , and full screen HD div-x movies on one screen. Which I'm assuming pretty much all cards buyable nowadays will have no issue at all with!

Thanks for any advice, I ideally need to order Tuesday to recieve Weds!

Thanks!

A 5770 will be a bit slower but have DX11. That's your starting point. Go below that and you will have quite a hit in performance. Above that and it's probably going to be a GTX 460. If you just want a cheap card that will play games then it's going to be a 4850.

He isn't looking for something with equal performance, just something to tide him over while the RMA processes that will play HD videos. Don't mean to be rude but did you even read the post? lol

yes, that's why I finished with the 4850

I'll have a check around tomorrow for a used 4850, if not it's a brand new £35 card to just keep me running then have it around as a spare.

Just don't game for 3-4 days and get a cheap £20 used card from your local computer store, that'd be fastest. OcUK are usually fairly quick with replacements, you might even consider being without your computer at all for 3 days! :p
