spec me a cheap PAYG sim

I was hunting for more info on the Three 321 thing, and this thread introduced me to Ovivo. That would suit me perfectly if it wasn't for the fact Voda reception is lousy at one of the locations I'd be at regularly.

But for £15 I might get a sim anyway. Thanks everyone.
 
Just wanted to point out that although ovivo uses the vodafone network the phone must be totally unlocked/sim free apparently according to their website :)
 
Just got my ovivo sim and slapped it into my old blackberry 9300 I can get calls just fine but despite adding ovivomobile.com into the APN settings and leaving username/pass blank, I still do not get any internet.

Any fix for this please ?

get this from the playstore and run,worked fine for me :)
do you not need an addon with a blackberry?
 
Yeah someone else on another forum said I need the blackberry addon :( was not aware of this and its £5 per month.

Thing is this is like with Giff gaffs BB addon, I was told if I did not want the BB services I could still use the internet via an opera browser and giff gaff apn settings.

I have manually added the APN settings and no good, even requested ovivo for the internet settings!


Ahhh man Ovivo text me saying I need BB addon, Just wasted £15 on worthless sim back to giff gaff. Maybe I can just pay the fiver per month will need to check it/

Haven't read the thread but did you know Virgin do a 30 day rolling sim for the 15 quid, unlimited everything and includes the BB services :)
 
Yeah that is not bad but was looking for a nice simple 15 quid and just done option/

Ovivo are quite crafty they sent a text saying I do need BB sub, they say for a fiver for the bb addon you will get 500mins tied into your original ovivo allowance of 500meg, but its clear on there website you need the bb addon just to surf/download in the 1st place, giff gaff does not require the bb addon to do this since I do not use bb services apart from net.

I guess since I have 15 quid credit I can still buy 3 BB addons, use it up in 3 months time and if I am happy with it pay a fiver a month afterwards.

Guess pre-warning to any BB users about Ovivo !
 
Yeah, blackberry is a pain. For some stupid reason you need an addon for all packages, my sister bought a Nexus 4 to replace her torch and her mobile internet wouldn't work because it was a blackberry package.

EDIT: More companies need a "Don't buy a blackberry because they are terrible" small print on their sites.
 
Yeah noted that on the new BB.... I am due a major overhaul and upgrade either way.

Ovivo use there terms so well under the BB explanation, there sorta suggesting we give you the data and minutes under your existing plan.... but at same time if you want to use it you need the bb addon for a fiver!

I taken it out for a fiver and now online, guess can't expect everyone to be as good as giff gaff in some ways !
