Looking to build a cheap pc just to be used for basic office and internet.

Tempted just to buy a prebuilt one but wondering how cheap a basic pc can be built for? :)

Just the tower and os required

Well the cheapest on here prebuilt is about £350 delivered so it needs to be (a good bit) less than that to be worth the hassle and time of putting together :) cheers
 
Proliant Microserver can be had for £140 from a competitor after HP's rebate. Then add the cost of whatever OS you want, maybe add like a £2 USB soundcard from fleabay if you need sound.

That can serve as a basic PC.

This is a bit less and should run fine, I bought a very similar one for my dad yesterday but with an E3400, putting it together tomorrow :p

This is pretty decent, could have scrapped the GPU but it could be used for Flash acceleration.
