Spec me a china mug

I was at a friends and she gave me earl grey with lemon in a china mug. It tasted great and she maintained she prefers coffee it a ceramic mug and tea in a china mug and that there really is a difference.

So I want to buy a china mug. I have no idea if quality matters. I had a look on Amazon and it's filled with 'funny' mugs. I suspect the quality of the mug isn't what they were aiming for.

Does anyone know anything about china and could suggest to me what I need to be looking for?

One does not simply buy a china mug...

Seriously though. You want a china teacup, not a china mug. With a willow pattern. Has to be the willow pattern.

Sounds like a lightweight bone china teacup.

If its just one and not a set should be able to get one pretty damn cheap.

Yes, I was under the impression Wedgewood was a decent make of stuff...

Assuming that it really is Wedgewood (and it's not going to come across all Radio 1 on me) then is that what I'm after?

Edit : What about these? Edit Edit : Oops they're practically shot glasses.

I'm guessing they are genuine, given that he's a big trader on eBay - but I'd ask for a bottom picture (in context!) first regardless.

Still not really sure what I'm looking for... is any bone china going to do, or can I be more picky?

Ah, I see what you mean. I could jump on the train, but it's simpler to get it delivered - probably cheaper too... and I don't like the idea of second hand, even though it's irrational.

If I can't find something that seems right online, then next time I'm in Argyle Street I'll nip up to the Barras and see.
