Or something very similar, which is the best one? Which is the one not plagued by bugs? Which is the best value for money. Etc.

Ta!

It's hard to look beyond Cities Skylines. An excellent game in a genre populated with only one recent good release - Cities Skylines (and another abortive attempt at a cash grab).

Wow thanks guys, seems like Cities Skylines it is then!

Lately I've been itching to play another city building game, remember playing Sim City 2000 back in the day!

So with that said, cheapest place to get Skylines from?

I picked up the Deluxe Edition for £16 from NUUVEM JOGOS. Let me know if you need details of how to do it.

cities skylines is the only real choice.

banished is fun for a few hours but not really a city builder it's more of a survival vs the elements for your citizens with you providing the buildings that allow the manufacturing of fur coats etc.

worth a buy if you can get it for cheap

Another vote for Cities:Skylines

however i need to go back to it! at launch i put about 24hrs into it, but that consisted of a lot of attempts at restarting and messing about to try and get a city going that doesn't get bogged down by traffic issues. i gave up but enjoyed my time with it! nay return soon and restart for the 10th time :D (less than that really)

Age of empires kinda games are city building to a small degree.
Sim city 1 on snes i liked cos of the cartoony advisor, never really liked the later ones.
Most modern ones seem a bit complex to be fun there was this egypt i think building game i think it was called pharaohs.

I'll go old school and recommend Pharaoh instead. Also Emperor: Rise of The Middle Kingdom was close to my heart as well. I also like Grand Ages too, but some people seem to not like it that much.
