i have £550 to spend roughly! and i dont know where to start. ive looked at the bundles on ocuk and came up with this.

GeIL 2GB (2x1GB) PC6400 800MHz Ultra Low Latency DDR2 Dual Channel Kit (GX22GB6400UDC) (MY-058-GL)
Gigabyte GA_965P_DS4 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard (MB-062-GI)
Intel Core 2 DUO E6600 "LGA775 Conroe" 2.40GHz (1066FSB) - Retail (CP-128-IN)

£558.09

i assume this is the best most compatible setup i can get with my money

this will be my first ever intel rig since my first pc.

thanks for help/comments

Revised Spec:

Intel Core 2 DUO E6400 "LGA775 Allendale" 2.13GHz (1066FSB) - OEM (CP-137-IN)
G.Skill 2GB DDR2 HZ PC2-6400 (2x1GB) CAS4 Dual Channel Kit (F2-6400PHU2-2GBHZ) (MY-013-GS)
Gigabyte GA_965P_DS4 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard (MB-062-GI)

this allows me to get a decent graphics card too. the e6400 should reach 3.2 with the memory i chose with 1:1

does the p5b deluxe suffer from the 1.8v boot problem?

well it looks like the e6400 oem's have gone from ocuk's site. so i cant get that.. which puts me a little over budget.

i need to know if what i have chosen is going to work..

E6400
DS4
G.Skill 6400HZ

another thing ive just noticed is that the ds4 has heatpipes to cool the chipset, in my case the board will be mounted upside down. will these heatpipes still work?
