Spec me a cooler for AM4

Hi all, currently my 1600X is sitting under the stock cooler and its hitting 71C idle.

So im after a new cooler

My case is a Corsair 450D which can apparently take a cooler with a height of 165mm and my motherboard is a Strix B350F

So is the cooler im looking at any good and will it fit? Any similarly priced alternatives?

Seems a bit high for idle temps, maybe try removing the cooler and repasting to see if that improves things before buying a new cooler

Definitely try reseating the heatsink, 71c is very high for idle even on a stock HSF.

The Brocken 2 is a great bit of kit, it is quite tall though so make sure it fits your case. You'll also need to buy an AM4 bracket for it:

8mm shorter and an excellent budget cooler. Mine also came with brackets to add a second fan, which I later did. Knocks a few more degrees off but not essential by any means.

There's also the esports duo, which I believe OCUK sells in red. However other colours can be bought directly.

Artic Freeze 2 is the way to go matey. I'm using the 280 and it keeps my ryzen 7 3700x at 65 degrees overclocked 4.4hz whilst gaming. Idle temp at 29 degrees.

Received and installed the freezer this morning along with a 2700X CPU.

Whilst temps are lower than with the 1600X im still seeing idle temps of around 60C.

How tight am I meant to fasten the screws down I don't want to break anything or damage the CPU
