Hi chaps,

I've been trying to get Baldur's Gate, or BG using BGTutu communicating between two Windows 7 machines on the same LAN with no success. Basically the client sits there searching for the game but can't find it. Has anyone got BG working over a LAN on Windows 7?

Alternatively, spec me a game of a similar vein that can be played both over the LAN and if needs be over the net. It doesn't have to be eye-meltingly graphically amazing, but it does need to be a good RPG. NWN was an alternative I'm considering.

The main nwn campaign is pants.

Try Icewind dale, It is more multiplayer focused than baldurs gate. There aren't many 'proper rpgs' like baldurs gate that are co-op so the only other suggestion is action rpg's.

I had great fun playing Sacred + Underworld with my missus. I would also suggest Diablo 2 obviously. Perhaps with the MedianXL mod, which by reckoning is a lot better than vanilla diablo.

The problem with Hamchi at the moment is that we're in the same house, so the same external IP.

Believe it or not we went with Guild Wars in the end, it works and we both have it from years ago already. Not exactly the kind of RPG I had in mind though!

We played in the same house too without problems. Like I said, direct connect to the host's Hamachi IP. Proximity shouldn't be a factor.

Enjoy guildwars anyhoo :)

Strange, each user should be allocated a unique IP. I'm at a loss as to why you've both got the same

But yeah, we both, User 'A' and 'B' have our unique Himachi logins and IP in the same house.
