Spec me a Coupe!

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder i guess then, im very fond of the coupe's looks - Its about the nicest in its class as far as low budgets go, IMO at least

Nice looking car, pretty reliable, good on fuel (well.. anywhere from 20-35 depending on the loud pedal)

Mine is the F2 Evo version, but the regular coupe (Gen1 looks nicer than the Gen2 in my opinion, but neither are ugly by any means)

Mine cost 4.5k, or around that - for an SE 2.0l coupe i'd imagine 3k-4k is about right

There's an F2 very near me up for £2.5k 1998, FSH, 82k

I'm tempted :D

How's the insurance?

in all honesty I don't hate it, it just seems mis-proportioned

The wheel arches seem way too small making the bodywork look massive (more so at the rear)

Also the only people I have met with them or wanting them have been chicks ;)

Hang on a mo. Just re-reading what Morthoseth wrote about the F2. 20-35MPG, is that all?

I can get up to 35MPG average in mine, and that is on a work run with the turbo spooled up most of the time (albeit gently)

I get 40 on a motorway run. 26 ish is the lowest i've ever got.

I very rarely travel on motorways / dual carriageways, my trip to work is 70% in town and 30% country roads, maybe thats the cause.

And insurance.. depending on how old you are can be quite nasty :p

At 18 with 0ncb it cost me 1700 or so.. :S

I'm always on motorways or dual carriageways :)

I'd be the same when I get it, is that fully comp? If so it's not bad, and I could always bolt myself onto mum's if it's too painful :D

Didnt realise coupe's were opinion-restricted to gender these days, too bad i dont have 20k+ to spend on an M3 BMW to become a man

Edit -- Forgot the obligatory smiley :P ;)

Do you know what subjective means? ;)
He's right though :D

Fox is the closest so far in this thread IMO, unless the OP is OK with an older Jap car, in which case it'd probably be the Mk2 N/A MR2.

Mine was £900 TPFT @ 18 with 1 years NCB, this year it's £880 mods declared Fully Comp @ 19 with 2 years NCB.

How abouts this then.

Doubt it, but remember the golden rule of cheap sporty cars:

a) Good looks
b) Reliability
c) Low price

You can ONLY have 2 of those, pick any 2 ;)
I take those points and raise you an MR2 Turbo.

a) I think they look very nice indeed.
http://www.jeremytucker.eclipse.co.uk/MR2GTST.jpg

b) Supremely reliable

c) Paid less than 4k for that one, with just 50k miles on the clock

Half that price for an NA one.
