Picked up a cheap Wii, along with the wii fit/dance/sing type crap that the missus will enjoy. I want to buy a couple of games for me, and I'm looking for recommendations.

I'm a PC gamer normally, so the only time I'll use the wii is if I've got a mate round, so I'm looking for something fun for that scenario. Prefer action style games rather than Mario kart. Gears of war would be a good example of what I want - fairly simple to play, good action, bit of blood and guts. Anything with co-op gets big bonus points.

So, any recommendations?

lol, I realise its not its core, but I've seen a few 18 rated games for the wii from browsing online game shops, so I figured there might be some. :)

Resident Evil 4 Wii Edition is worth a look I guess ... fits that blood and guts criteria - albeit looking very dated now ... hopefully they bring out a Wii U version soon!

Thanks for the suggestions so far guys, am watching YouTube videos as we speak :) If there's any more suggestions, keep em coming.

On the blood and gore thing, I'm not specifically looking for that, I just don't want cutesy cartoons, and it tends to be one or the other. Games that have no blood and gore are absolutley fine, as long as they are not cutsey kiddy games, thats all I meant.

I also noticed they've done a goldeneye remake - how faithful is it to the original? I remember multiplayer on that was epic back in the day

I have it on ps3 if you mean goldeneye reloaded.

Its not bad, I haven't been able to play online multiplayer because no one plays it. Single player is solid but nothing groundbreaking. There's some good setpieces that get the adrenaline flowing :)

If you love james bond you might love it, anyone else will probably think its just a decent game.

Oh and I thought the daniel craig likeness was awful, he looks about 15 years younger than irl. :D

As for faithfulness, I didn't own a n64 so I can't comment.
