I don't need monster speed and very latest but something i7 that can run 8 threads at least and good balance between cost and performance. Good motherboard with options. I want to stick with i7 or above. Not totally averse to AMD but I've always been an Intel guy.
16G of RAM minimum with upgrade to 32 (so 2 sticks). I'll be honest with you, I went from 16G to 32G in current rig and noticed no difference at all......
Already have most disks but want new NVMe to boot from.
Have 1060 GFX already. I'm not a monster gamer so 1060 is plenty for me.
Rig will be used for my astronomy processing/Light room/Premiere/office/router emulation (GNS3) and some light gaming on classics like GTAV.
Budget, dunno, £500? Been away from PC building for a few years so finger not on the pulse.... so can afford some more £££ if really needed.
