Spec me a CPU+Motherboard!

Okay guys I'm selling my World of Warcraft account for about 250 pounds....
Now with that money, my motherboards been playing me up big time on this PC with booting and general stability, so I'm gona get a new one but thought ah well may as well get a new processor, so would you reccomend a Intel Core Duo or a AMD Athlon X2?

pref the cheapest possible first then I can work my way up if I can afford it (It could be more than 250 pounds to spend as I'm still reasoning the price but lets say max 300 for now.)

Well, your rather stuffed TBH.

You can either get a new 939 mobo and CPU which would be a waste of money or spend like £400 on:

E6300+P5B+2Gb PC5300/6400 DDR2.

Or you could get a E6300 and that dual mem DDR/DDR2 ASrock thingy...

Your choice

Ahh do I actually have to buy the Ram then? or can I buy that at a later stage?

Tad clueless when it comes to Intel Processors.

Core 2 Duo uses DDR2 except for one or two motherboards, like the Asrock 775Dual-VSTA.

Well, with the ASrock dual mem mobo, youc an use your DDR and then get some DDR2 later, but I think it doesn't clock very well.

A few people have gone for it and say its ok so I dunno really.

I'd rather save and get a full Conroe setup

DS3 + E6300 + PC6400.

£500 worth :/
