Hello,

I have an

Asus A8N SLi Motherboard
250 GB Seagate Sata HDD
Antec Sonata II Case
Enermax Liberty 620 Watt PSU
Sapphire Radeon X1900XTX GPU
2 GB DDR Ram
AMD 3700+ @ 2.4 GHz
Creative X-Fi Soundcard

Obviously I want to use as many parts from this system as possible to save on money (my wallet is on a diet). The system will be used for fps games and strat games. I'm finding that my CPU is the major bottleneck in my system. I'm not sure how my graphics card will hold up to newer models but if it is recommended I will get a new one.

I'm a CS student and I used to be really into what was happening in the scene what brands and models were good and what wasn't following benchmarks and 3D Mark results. However I just seemed to loose the taste and the time and now I know nothing of whats good and what isn't.

If there is an awesome combo out there please let me know. Also I haven't the time or patience to get into overclocking. Just assume I won't be making any such tweeks, unless there happens to be something close to the Opteron cores AMD released a few years ago.

Thanks,
Séan.

If you are looking at latest gaming there isnt going to be much of the existing system to re-use. You are looking at a GFX card, CPU and Mobo and memory.
