spec me a cpu

looking for an upgrade in the cpu department as my e6600 struggles with crysis and forged alliance. what cpu is gonna give me the grunt to run theses games well? i'm told the q6600 doesnt really make a lot of difference to these games. i running the e6600 @ 2.9ghz

If you really want one, get an e8*00.

I have an e6750 and, although it's at 3.2 now, was running at stock for ages and games like Crysis ran fine.

Noticed in your sig you have a GTS - is it the 320/640 or a new 512?

your better off getting a new gpu in my opinion as crysis takes a lot of gpu power. your e6600 is still fine for games but not for getting the top scores in benchmarking

I agree with ^ btw - a new gpu will be much more beneficial.

Thirded, a 512 8800GT/GTS would be your best bet imo.

Cant you overclock some more too? That board should be able to get you passed 3.2Ghz I would think, if you can get 3.5Ghz and a new GT/GTS I would have thought you would see improvements.

the new series of cards really make much of a difference? as crysis and fa i thought were more cpu based
